Gutter Lining for Industrial and Commercial Units
The gutter lining we use is high grade and supplied on rolls. The liner is seamless and non-bonded to accommodate thermal movement and eliminate leaks which can sometimes be caused by joint movement and stress fractures with traditionally bonded systems.
This more advanced system is designed to provide a seamless, non-bonded “gutter within a gutter” and comes with a full 25 year guarantee when fitted correctly in accordance with the Installation Training Programme.
The liner we use is thermoplastic, durable, hard-wearing and flexible liner that is bespoke creased to the profile of the existing gutter.
Professional fitting by experts with fixing specifications for mechanically trapping and pinning the liner and all of the system components. These include gutter stop ends, galvanised angles, flashings and a range of specific fixings for each different type of gutter substrate.
Outlets for rainwater drainage are available in various types, shapes and sizes. We use Sharman’s system which supports them all, including gravity systems, syphonic, vortex, weir and emergency overflow, to name just a few, along with other drainage components such as leaf guards.
A roof’s gutter network will include transition components to link sections of gutter system, including T-junctions, corners and other bespoke elements. With over 25 years experience, Sharman’s have developed their manufacturing capability to produce bespoke moulded network components to any size or shape to match the existing building.
Their bespoke, moulded, vacuum formed, gravity outlets, stop ends, corners and T-junctions are engineered to provide a complete “gutter within a gutter” and the system also includes syphonic outlet kits. Specified fixings packs are supplied as an integral part of the system for all gutter substrate types whether steel, other types of metal, concrete, asbestos or timber.
The market leading Plygene gutter lining system is made from an incredibly strong thermoplastic blend engineered specifically for the gutter environment. It offers resistance to mechanical damage and is highly durable and weather tight. It is also capable of withstanding foot traffic and is UV resistant, maintaining it’s performance integrity for the full lifecycle of the building. Plygene contracts and expands to suit all environmental conditions without impacting the gutter’s performance or structural integrity.
Non-bonded for expansion and movement
The seamless gutter lining system is non-bonded in design and thermally expands and contracts independently from the the gutter substrate material. This means that as the gutter itself thermally moves, the integrity of the gutter lining is not compromised and will not craze and crack like liquid coatings, or open at the joints like other bonded systems. Hence performance integrity is fully designed into the full product lifecycle.
Maintaining or improving rainwater performance
With it’s unique design configuration which eliminates the need for any sole board or system build up, Plygene Gutterline ensures that the original rainwater flow rate for the building it is used on is perfectly maintained, and in some instances is also improved.
Installation of the Plygene Gutterline system is not subject to changes in weather and can be installed in damp or light rain conditions, and doesn’t need an ambient temperature of 5 degrees and rising. It therefore provides contractors with all year around availability to refurbish leaking gutters.
Seamless and continuous
The system is seamless in design to eliminate the need for problematic joints that corrode and fail primarily as a result of thermal movement across seasonal cycles over a number of years. Designing out these points of failure extends the performance integrity of the Plygene Gutterline system providing a guaranteed solution to stop gutters leaking permanently.
Engineered to deliver improved installation
Plygene Gutterline is designed to reduce site complexity and is quicker to install in comparison to the likes of traditional bonded membranes or liquids. It is non–bonded in design and eliminates the need for extensive remedial cleaning prior to fitting. The bespoke moulded components of the system also reduces labour complexity during installation. The net result is a faster installation and less building disruption.
